The theme of the lesson: Why Rabbits have got long ears?

The aims:
1) Educational: to learn and practice new vocabulary on the theme, explain the main idea and introduce with heroes of the tale.
2) Developing: to develop pupils’ logical thinking and creativity, skills and habits in speaking, reading.
3) Bringing - up: to bring up to be polite, attentive and to give their opinions.
Type of the lesson: traditional.
Visual aids: books, pencil, colorful pictures and the new words, cards with tasks.

The procedure of the lesson:
I. Organization moment.
a) Greeting.
b) Checking up the home task.
c) Warming up. Rhyme “I found a cow!”.
II. Presentation moment. “Why Rabbits have got long ears?”
III. Practice. Answer the questions.
IV. Consolidation.
V. Summing up.
I. Greeting.
Teacher: Hello, boys and girls?
Pupils: Hello!
Teacher: Thank you. Sit down, please. How are you?
Pupils: We are fine.
Teacher: Who is on duty today?
Pupil: I am on duty today.
Teacher: What day is it today?
Pupil: Today is the __rd of ____.
Teacher: Who is absent today?
Pupil: All are present.
Teacher: Thank you. Sit down, please.
b) Checking up.
Teacher: You have learnt new words and read the tale. Who can say me what tale is about? Yes, this tale is about The Little red Hen. Who remembers the heroes? What did they do? Can we say that Jen the Hen is hard working? Who helped to make bread?

It is a letter from Africa. Do you know where it is situated? His name is Brother Rabbit. He lives in Africa and he sent this letter for us. It’s so wonderful, are you agree with me?
Brother Rabbit sent his letter for you, my dears! But he wrote that he sent some tales and tasks for us. And we must do all the tasks, because he wants to be very clever and big. If we help him to do tasks, he will be very big and clever. Can we help for him?
The 1st task is read the rhyme about “I found a cow”

II. Teacher: Thank you. Your acts have good results. The next task is fairytale. Brother Rabbit has sent us the fairy tale. We must read and translate this tale. First of all, look at the blackboard and write down the new words.

Why rabbits have got long ears?

This is Brother Rabbit. He is very little, but he wants to be big. He wants to be very, very clever, too.
One day Brother Rabbit comes to his Aunt Mammy - Bammy.
“Hello, Aunt Mammy - Bammy,” he says. “How are you?”
“I’m fine, thank you,” says Aunt Mammy - Bammy. “And you?”
“I’m very well, too. Aunt Mammy - Bammy, can you help me?” says Brother Rabbit.
“What do you want?”
“I want to be very big and very, very clever.”
“I can help you if you do what I want. Can you see that bird in the tree? I want to have that bird. Get it for me.”

Brother Rabbit takes a box, puts seeds into it and goes to the tree where the Bird lives. He sits down under the tree with the box in his hands.
The bird sees Brother Rabbit and says, “Hello, Brother Rabbit. What do you want to do with your box?”
“Oh, I’ve got many seeds in the box. They are yellow, they are big, and they are very, very nice!”
“And what do you want to do with the seeds?” says the Bird.
“I want to eat these seeds,” says Brother Rabbit.
“Oh, I want to eat the seeds, too,” says the Bird.
“If you want to eat these seeds,” says Brother Rabbit, “then jump into this box!”
The Bird is hungry, she wants to eat the seeds very much, and she jumps into the box.
Brother Rabbit takes the box with the Bird in it and runs to Aunt Mammy - Bammy.

Let’s start to call the name of the heroes.
The 1st hero is Brother Rabbit.
The 2nd hero is Aunt Mammy - Bammy.
Teacher: I will check up your understanding about this text and give you some tasks which are connected with text.
You must answer for these questions right.
Brother Rabbit goes to Mr. Fox. Is it right?
