There are three types of adjectives: short adjectives (1 - 2 syllables), adjectives of 2 or more syllables, Irregular forms (slide 1)
There are three degrees: positive, comparative and superlative.
1. One syllable and two syllable adjectives form their comparative and superlative degrees by adding endings – er and – est.
Let’s compare. For example: small - smaller - the smallest
Now, listen and repeat after me.
Small smaller (than) the smallest
Long longer (than) the longest
Tall taller (than) the tallest
Short shorter (than) the shortest
Cold colder (than) the coldest
New newer (than) the newest
But, Remember!
Big - bigger - the biggest
Nice - nicer - the nicest
Happy - happier - the happiest

6. Writing activity. Write the missing words. I give to students yellow and rose stickers and each student choose that one and divided in two groups than make own sentences.
