Theme: Welcome to London (Transport in London)
Aims: - To enrich students’ knowledge about London.
- To introduce pupils with sights of London.
- To develop pupils speaking habits and self-working skills.
- Reviewing the structures of degrees of comparison of adjectives.
The type of the lesson: traditional
Visual aids: Interactive board, posters, pictures of transports.
The outline of the lesson:
I. Organization moment
a) Greeting
b) Checking up absentees
II. Checking up the home work: Ex 11 (To make up 5 sentences putting verbs in Future Perfect)
III. Presentation of the new theme
IV. Reviewing degrees of comparison of adjectives
V. Game: 1) “Who is the first?”
2) “Are you a better translator?”
VI. Conclusion.
a) Giving marks
b) Giving home work: Ex4 (answering the questions) and to make up 5 sentences using new word-adjectives.
VII. The end of the lesson.
The procedure of the lesson:
I. Organization moment
a) Greeting
b) checking up the absentees
c) Warm up
II. Checking up the home work: Ex 11
III. Presentation of the new theme:
1) Introduction of London (giving short information)
2) Working with the text “Transport in London” Ex 3. (Dividing students into 3 groups)
a) Reading the text once in 2 minutes and making an association on the theme.
3) True or False: (Evaluation exercise)
A) Every person knows London by its red double-decker buses
• B) 13 all night bus services help tourists to see the city
• C) Tourist routes have blue bands
• D) Its expensive to use London underground
• E) The taxi driver of London passes exam for receiving license
• F) The taxi driver himself decides how much the passenger should pay
IV. Reviewing degrees of comparison of adjectives
a) Explanation of the rules of building
b) Giving own examples
V. Games: “Who is the first?” (To make up 5 word combinations by connecting two sides and giving comparative, superlative degrees)

- So, students, we have spent our time more interesting learning about London, its sightseeing and transport system. And the structures of degrees of comparison of adjectives help us identify things more deeply.
