Procedure of the lesson

I. Song “Mother Nature needs us”. Students sing together and say the meaning of the song in 2 - 3 sentences.

If just one person shines
Others will follow in line
As we board the greenhouse train
We´ll say good – bye to acid rain
As we fight global warming
We´ll stand united as one
All around the world
A new day has begun
We´re so afraid of pollution
But we can find a brighter day
Let´s work on the solutions

II. Vocabulary Work This task is given to the students beforehand to be ready.

Salmon is the common name for several species of fish in the family Salmonidae. Salmon are native to tributaries of the North Atlantic (genus Salmo) and Pacific Ocean. Salmon are intensively produced in aquaculture in many parts of the world. Typically, salmon are anadromous: they are born in fresh water, migrate to the ocean, then return to fresh water to reproduce.

The lion is one of the five big cats in the genus Panthera. The commonly used term African lion collectively denotes the several subspecies found in Africa. With some males exceeding 250 kg (550 lb) in weight,[4] it is the second - largest living cat after the tiger. Wild lions currently exist in sub - Saharan Africa and in Asia (where an endangered remnant population resides in Gir Forest National Park in India) while other types of lions have disappeared from North Africa and Southwest Asia in historic times. Lions live for 10 – 14 years in the wild, although in captivity they can live more than 20 years. They typically inhabit savanna and grassland, although they may take to bush and forest.
Eagle is a common name for many large birds of prey of the family Accipitridae. Most of the sixty species of eagles are from Eurasia and Africa.[1] Outside this area, just fourteen species can be found – two in North America, nine in Central and South America, and three in Australia. Eagles normally build their nests, called eyries, in tall trees or on high cliffs. Many species lay two eggs, but the older, larger chick frequently kills its younger sibling once it has hatched. The dominant chick tends to be the female, as they are bigger than the male. The parents take no action to stop the killing.
