Canada is situated on the North American continent. In size Canada is the second in the world after Russia. Its area is almost 10 million square kilometers. As Canada extends for thousands of miles from the Arctic Ocean to the United States and from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean, all kinds of weather conditions and scenery are to be found there. The population of Canada is about 33 million people. The capital of Canada is Ottawa, which is situated on the bank of the Ottawa River. It is famous for its beautiful parks. It is also known as the city of bridges.

3. When did it become independent?
4. What are its main natural resources?
5. What does it produce?
6. What are the most developed industries?
7. What does it grow?
Exercise 1 Group work. Divide into two groups. Write information about Canada in the poster.
