The aims:
Educational: to teach pupils to use sequences of tenses in the speech, to enrich their knowledge with new facts
Development: to develop pupil’s speaking, writing, reading skills & pronunciation abilities.
Bring - up: to bring up pupils' interest by doing exercises

Procedure of the lesson
I Organisation moment
Greeting Good afternoon. I am glad to see you
Take your sits
So how are you guys?
And what about girls?
All right!
Today we shall remember how we use such thing as sequences of tenses.
II Phonetic drill
So how do you think shall we have a great snow weather for the New Year? Discuss the weather

III Discussion
If we want to tell somebody about the conversation with another person, we should use the sequences of tenses. The keywords are:
- He said,
- She thinks,
- I hoped,
- They will know, etc
What tenses do you know?

Work with table

Present Simple
Past Simple
Future Simple
Present Continuous
Past Continuous
Future Continuous
Present Perfect
Past Perfect
Future Perfect
Future in the past

Following the arrows we can see the changing of the secondary sentence. For example:
- He thinks, he is a great leader.
If the primary (underlined) sentence is in Present or in the Future, we do not change the secondary sentence. We change it only when the primary is in the Past. You can see it. Examples:
- She says, he is cute.
And if we have primary in the Past:
- He said, (she is clever.)
We follow the arrows at the board and see that we should put instead Present Simple Past Simple.
- He said, she was clever.
- She thought, (he will go visit her)
he would go to visit her.
- They said, (he hasn’t ever been in England)
He hadn’t ever been in England.
- He thought, (she was at school)
she had been at school.
So, I want you to try this by yourselves near the blackboard.

Choose the volunteers. They must go to the board & answer the questions.
Translate this sentences, into correct form.
- I hope, (he is real friend)
He is real friend
- He thought, (he will pass this exam)
He would pass this exam
- He said, (she hasn’t been in Egypt)
She hadn’t been in Egypt

Pupils sit on computers & do the test.

Make 5 sentences by your own ideas.
